JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The Missouri Soybean Association (MSA) has new leadership following the election of new officers at a recent board meeting. Kelly Forck, who farms near Jefferson City, Mo., will serve as president of the MSA. Helping Forck lead the MSA board are: Vice-President Chris Filer, Garden City; Secretary Doug Thomas, Brashear; and Treasurer Greg Sharpe, Ewing.

"I consider it an honor to be elected by my peers to serve as MSA president," says Forck. "This is an exciting time to be a leader in the soybean industry and I look forward to representing the interests of Missouri’s soybean farmers.”

Forck has served as MSA vice-president, secretary and treasurer. He has been seated on the MSA board of directors since 2003. Forck also serves as a member of the board of directors for the United States Soybean Federation and the American Soybean Association. He raises soybeans, corn and cattle in Cole County.

Dale R. Ludwig, MSA executive director/CEO, says Forck is more than qualified for his new responsibilities. “Kelly Forck is well-versed on the challenges facing today’s soybean farmers. He has experience dealing with soybean issues on the local, national and international level and his knowledge of the industry will prove to be a valuable asset to the association.”

The MSA is a statewide membership organization providing a collective voice in representing interests specific to the Missouri soybean producer through legislative advocacy, influencing public policy and communication/education to and for its members in order to increase profitability for Missouri soybean farmers.
